The Final Stage of the 20th Armenian School Chess Olympiad Has Begun

On September 10, 14 of the best school teams from different regions of Armenia and Yerevan came together in Kapan, the regional center of Syunik, to begin their chess competition.

The opening ceremony of the Olympiad took place at the Kapan Culture Center, attended by First Deputy Mayor of Kapan Community Gor Tadevosyan and FIDE Vice President, First Vice President of the Chess Federation of Armenia, Founder and General Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia, GM Smbat Lputian.

During the opening ceremony, the participating teams drew their starting numbers, officially marking the beginning of the tournament phase of the anniversary Olympiad.

For 20 years, the Olympiad has been organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia, with the Armenian General Benevolent Union as its main sponsor and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia as its supporter.

The tournament days ahead promise exciting games, strong competition, and new chess stories. We wish all teams success and an engaging competition!
